Ways these Denver Broncos together with the 'play-dough' QB could end the Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage is available through designated networks for another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the football calendar and following last week's discussion about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter against Denver, who play overseas this Sunday.

However it was positive to observe how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to overcome the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending extra pass rushers but they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, we said on a program that the Broncos might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and new running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th league-wide in ground gains (402) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows that the Broncos represent a team that wants to run first, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in positive situations.

This has benefited QB Bo Nix, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, and finding varied release points to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and it seems Payton likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him the way he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a championship and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is largely down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to face an elite team at its best? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, that's a solid position to be in their division. All they need is to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are the first team to be without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
