Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”
