Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. Several persons required hospital care and were subsequently released.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
