The Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Astrological Sign

The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement across the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of fresh additions before the title's launch, to players forming firm views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.

Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique designs that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: How can connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as always furious, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Remain on the good side of both and enjoy a powerful partner; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.

The Bull – Super Heracross

Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its standard and Mega form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, each the Pokémon and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. What about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unashamed love of snacks. Several past Pokédex entries note their fondness for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Look at this total queen. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, offering an constant stream of gossip to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's incredibly easy to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its ability to predict an enemy’s next moves, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.

The Crab – Super Manectric

Cancer is widely regarded as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a intense symbol famous for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the official info, Super Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to completely control,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to create a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

The Lion – Super Starmie

Well, did you think I was planning to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Aside from the reality that it would be much too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Fans were captivated from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Leo brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be transmitting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s just like a Lion to be putting on a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Mega Victreebel

The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s similar to the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Look at this gentle, sensitive being, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them stress even more about everyone else.

Scorpio – Super Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure hatred and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a performance. Being a Archer personally, the number of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can think of.

Capricorn – Super Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.

The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure

Detached air sign Water Bearer is possibly the non-fire sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
