The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement across the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of fresh additions before the title's launch, to players forming firm views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.

Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique designs that highlight their personalities, one thought came to mind: How can connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as always furious, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s similar to the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Look at this gentle, sensitive being, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just make them stress even more about everyone else.

Scorpio – Super Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure hatred and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a performance. Being a Archer personally, the number of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can think of.

Capricorn – Super Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re right.
