Star Denies Anti-Vaccine Position After Lending His Voice To Contentious Covid Documentary
The acclaimed actor has lent his voice to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of vaccinations and praises former government figure the political figure.
The Feature's Provocative Origins
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the flu vaccine.
Her collaborator, a producer, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone radio host the Infowars host. The producer recently posted praising Neeson's involvement in the film.
A Firm Denial
The team of Liam Neeson have released a comment pushing back against implications that he holds anti-immunization views.
"Many acknowledge that corruption can exist within the medical sector, but that should never be equated to being against vaccines," the statement reads. "He never has been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the UN children's agency underscores his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."
The response noted that the actor had no hand in the project's editorial content and that concerns about its assertions ought to go to the producers.
Key Claims Featured in the Feature
In the film, the script provided by Neeson makes several controversial claims:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
- It declares that "science has become highly politicized."
- Kennedy is shown saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
- The film further attacks pandemic restrictions, saying they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- On the topic of pandemic shots, it mentions a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Historical Context and Current Debates
It further cites a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the subject of a formal apology by the network for violations of guidelines.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr instructed the national health agency to revise its long-held position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the documentary, even with a new report from the WHO stating no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Position of Endorsement
Standing in contrast to the film's narrative, Neeson has previously shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
The documentary ends with Neeson's narration saying, "This is not the conclusion of our journey. This is the dawn of a new chapter."
