An American-Palestinian teenager having endured a nine-month period in Israeli detention absent formal charges was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.

The US state department applauded Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.

According to them, he appears visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle conveyed their "immense relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.

"At this moment, our priority is getting Mohammed urgent medical care he needs following exposure to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."

US officials said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to the teenager's relatives.

{"US government authorities gives utmost importance than the safety and security of US citizens"," it added.

Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to US authorities and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to secure his release.

Mohammed's parent, with four children managing a frozen treats business in Florida, previously claimed Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.

He had not seen or spoken to Mohammed since February, learning information solely what had happened to him in detention through court documents.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary on the West Bank.

It is also home to adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and murder.

There are around several hundred young Palestinian detainees detained within Israeli facilities, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, and international organizations, document cases involving abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.

The dual national youth per medical officials was beaten to death by settlement residents following tensions in July.

At the time, military authorities reported authorities were looking into reports a Palestinian civilian had died.

Mohammed and Sayfollah were employed together within the family's frozen treats establishment from Tampa.

No one has been charged regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We expect US authorities to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
